Effect of temperature on the incident angle-dependence of the sensitivity for surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy

چکیده
The recent work reporting the observation of the increase in sensitivity for surface plasmon resonance (SPR) spectroscopy at smaller incident angles, is further studied with variation in the temperature of the SPR sensor. Using a simple theoretical model established previously, it is found that in spite of the increase in damping for the resonance at higher temperatures, the recent finding of the increase of sensitivity with decrease in incident angles remains valid. 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. The effect of temperature on optical absorption cross section of bimetallic core-shell nano particles
In this paper, the temperature dependence on optical absorption cross section of the core shell bimetallic nanoparticles (NPs) is investigated in quasi static approximation. Temperature dependence of the plasmon resonance is important issue because of recent applications of NPs of noble metal for heat treating of cancer and the computer chips. The effect of temperature on surface plasmon resona...
متن کاملTemperature dependence of the sensitivity of a long-range surface plasmon optical sensor
The temperature dependence of the sensitivity of an optical sensor based on long-range surface plasmon resonance (LRSPR) is studied via theoretical modeling. Both the ‘angular interrogation’ and the ‘wavelength interrogation’ modes of operation are studied. In addition, the variation of the full width at half maximum of the LRSPR ‘reflectance dip’ is also studied as a function of temperature, w...
متن کاملComparing signal amplification of thiocyanated Gold nanoparticles in the presence of different ions
Detecting is the most important section in all kinds of sensors. In this regard, the amplification of surface plasmon resonance intensity of gold colloids nanoparticles (GNPs) was studied in the presence of several ions. GNPs were synthesized and then capped by thiocyanate and characterized via DLS and TEM image. In the next step the effect of different concentrations of ions such as iron, copp...

Surface plasmon resonance sensors have been widely considered due to their sensitivity, accuracy and response speed. In order to stimulate surface plasmons, a crisman structure is used in which the metal layer (mainly gold or silver) is placed on the surface of the prism. Due to temperature changes, various factors such as optical properties of the metal, the prism and the surrounding environme...
